4th of May till 18 June 2019:
Exposition ‘die Weisse Rose’ (the white rose) to be exhibited in the House of Peace. Die Weise Rose was a resistance-movement within Nazi-Germany, formed by students inspired by their Christian roots and human values to mobilize the Germans by peaceful means to stand up for human dignity, freedom and to come in resistance against the violent and inhumane Nazi’s. In 1943 they were caught and after four days they were executed. But their message of having the courage to stand for human values in the most difficult times and to follow your human consciousness still lives on, and will continue to live on. This exposition with the letters of the hero’s and touching and sometimes shocking photos of the Second World War comes from the Anti-Kriegsmuseum and Friedensbibliothek of Berlin, Germany. It is set up through the intermediary of the Peace Museum of Gouda, the Netherlands.
