KENDURI RUKUN DAMAI

In the late afternoon, on the stage/foundation stones and pillars of the RUMAH MENAPO (House of wisdom and peace) which is in construction in the village of Muara Jambi, on the vast Buddhis archeological site in Sumatra, at the cross roads of the ancient Buddhist Sea Route, the Muslim villagers will perform Malay acoustic music, poetry readings about the glorious Buddhist past and the nowadays environment problems on the site, masked  dance and Hadrah and Marawis drums. Then at 5.30 PM, the villagers will break the fast together with the visitors.

In Indonesian KENDURI RUKUN DAMAI means:

-KENDURI: ceremonial meal cooked in a a communal way

-RUKUN: harmony

-DAMAI: peace
